Do you wish you could make life easier for your senior pet? It's never easy seeing your furry friend age and try to navigate their world while dealing with canine arthritis and other issues that affect aging pets. However, there are many things you can do to help your dog during their golden senior years.

If your furry friend suffers from joint pain or canine arthritis you may try some glucosamine or even turmeric. There are many dog supplements on the market, but some of these may be pricey. If you are trying to be frugal like I always am, you can buy the human supplements and put them in a hot dog (be sure to check with your veterinarian first).
You may also want to invest in a good set of sturdy dog stairs or dog ramp for your dog to reach their favorite couch or your bed safely and with ease. Are you saying, "yeah but you can't teach an old dog new tricks!". I totally disagree!! My sister-in-law's 17-year-old Jack Russel was having trouble with his back legs due to joint pain and arthritis and had never used a dog ramp. Well, within minutes of putting a dog ramp at her sofa, he was trotting up and down the ramp with ease. He now paws her if she's blocking his ramp and his sofa :) Because let's face it, the sofa and the beds are truly theirs!

If your furry friend is dealing with some vision impairment, you may find a ramp with some guard rails to help.
